Expanding an Image using Stable Diffusion

You can expand the boundary of an image using Stable Diffusion. For example, you can turn a 1024×1024 image into 2048×2048 after several process in Stable Diffusion, resuting in a much larger image with high level of coherence.

1. Upload your image to “PNG Info” and extract the prompts of your desired image.


2. Send the parameters to “img2img”. This is to generate image according to the prompts you just extracted.
3. In the image generation section, select “Crop and resize”. Set the parameters with 0.6 denoising strength + 40 sampling steps + 4 Batch Size
4. Scroll down to the Script menu, Enable the script “Poor man’s Outpainting“. Keep the original settings and selected “fill” for masked content.
5. Select your desired “Outpainting direction”. Remeber only to expand 1 direction at 1 time to avoid any unwanted result.
6. Extend the left side and right side for multiple times to expand the image.
